Sassoon Suite, name after the founder of this historic building, captures 1930s elegance with breathtaking Bund views. This British Baroque space, situated beneath the iconic green copper pyramid, once served as Sir Victor Sassoon’s business headquarters and social epicenter.

Sassoon Suite
The Sassoon Suite reflects the 1930s internationalism of Sir Victor Sassoon, the very first founder of the hotel (then called Cathay Hotel, recognized as “No. 1 Mansion of Far East”).
Located on the 10th floor, it was Sassoon’s private penthouse during 1930s, imitating the British Baroque style of the 17th and 18th centuries, it has been restored with a suite of spacious and luxuriously appointed rooms that affords breathtaking vistas of the Bund and Huangpu River – a view that Sir Victor referred to as “his muse.” Paneled in dark oak under the green copper pyramid tower, this penthouse was where Sir Victor presided over his amazing business and social ventures.
